Solar panels on the ASML Veldhoven Campus through employee investment

Welcome to the Solar Run!

The Solar Run project aims to install solar panels on the roofs of the ASML Veldhoven campus through employee investment. This is a win-win-win: More sustainable energy for our planet, earning some money for our employees and a greener image for ASML.

For this purpose, the Solar Run cooperation is founded on February 12th 2021. This cooperation will be the legal entity to manage the solar panel investments from the employees and by the employees. All ASML employees can participate in the cooperation and the investments.

Our ambition is to install the first batch of panels in Q1 2022 on the roofs of buildings 6L and 6A-J.

Newsletter 1

Dear SolarRun contact,

We are happy to announce that over the last few weeks, we have made great progress on our first project to realize 200+ solar panels on the roof of building 6L: at the 5th of January, we have an important deadline to receive the SCE subsidies. We need to show the government that we have

  1. At least 17 members living in the 'postal code rose' area => met, we have 24.
  2. An official (notary) document showing that ASML allows us to use their roof space for at least 15 years. => We are in close contact with the notary and our CFO signed last Monday. Admittedly, we are overdoing the ASML just-in-time approach here, positive we will make it though! Fingers crossed…and a lesson for the future.

So we are hopeful we meet these criteria and are set to proceed.

We would also like to announce that we will host our first General Members Meeting (ALV) Monday the 17th of January, 20:00-22:00. This ALV will revolve around the first project, more specifically around finalizing the preparations to start the investments. To that end, we will share the financials and review the participation agreement, listing the agreements between the cooperative and the members. Through your attendance, you can have a say in this. So if you are not a member yet, feel very welcome to sign up, attend, and influence the agreements??. Note we already have 73 members, so you are in good company.

For more info, we would like to refer you to our SharePoint:  Solar Run - SharePoint. The document “FAQ SolarRun.pptx” answers quite some common questions.

Happy holidays!

Board of cooperative SolarRun U.A.

September 12th, 2021: Coop starts recruiting members

For the "postcoderoos" project on building 6L, only residents of postal codes 5501, 5502, 5503, 5504, 5505, 5581, 5655 or 5653 can participate. That is why we are especially looking for people living in this area. We are working on a 2nd project for 2,500 solar panels on building 6A-J. Subsidy for that project is independent of the postal area, i.e. everyone can join (even people abroad).

We think this is a good moment to start recruiting cooperation members. A one-time fee of 20 Euro is required for the membership. This fee is meant to cover some start-up expenses. It also serves as a threshold so that only people with serious interest will join the cooperation and are entitled to vote in the annual meeting (ALV).

Even though the panels are not there yet, we start recruiting now for the following reasons:

  1. you support the cooperation: More members will create more leverage for the cooperation
  2. you can decide on the direction we go, e.g. via the annual meeting
  3. we need to submit a list of at least 15 members living in the postal codesas above, by 5th of Jan. 2022. Obviously, you can also join the coop when you live somewhere else.

You can subscribe by creating an account at:
https://solarrun.mijnenergiesamen.nl.
Then you are a 'contact' of the cooperation in our 'Econobis' administration system. We will send an email to all new contacts asking whether you want to become a 'member' (and pay the subscription fee), or only want to receive our newsletter.
If you don't get the 'Activation' mail after the "Een E-mail is onderweg!" screen, please check your spam folder. If it is not there either, please contact us at info@solarrun.nl or solarrun@asml.com.

July 7th 2021: Postcoderoos subsidy granted!

The Solar Run Team is very excited that the Postcoderoos (SCE) subsidy to fill the remaining roof space of building 6KLM with 206 solar panels has been granted! We now have 6 months to provide a list of participants, so we will be reaching out to you soon. In parallel we continue the preparation of the realization of the panels.

April 1st 2021: First application for solar energy subsidy submitted!

The Solar Run team applied for a Postcoderoos (SCE) subsidy to fill the remaining roof space of building 6KLM with 206 solar panels. We are anxiously waiting for the approval, which is expected in June. More information on the Postcoderoos subsidy can be found here.

February 12th 2021: Solar Run cooperation founded

The Solar Run U.A. cooperation was founded at the notary and its first board (consisting of the Solar Run project members) was installed. The cooperation is also signed in at the Chamber of Commerce (KvK). This is a key milestone towards our goal of realizing solar panels on the ASML roofs!
